Ingrid Andress’ rendition of the Nationwide Anthem was not so proudly hailed.
The four-time Grammy nominee stirred debate together with her distinctive styling of the “Star-Spangled Banner” on the Dwelling Run Derby in Arlington, Texas July 15.
The 32-year-old put her personal twist on the anthem, shifting the octave up and down in a stylistic method that didn’t fairly swimsuit everybody’s style. And Main League Baseball followers had been fast to take to on-line platforms to debate.
“I am positive Ingrid Andress is a superb individual,” one individual wrote on X, previously Twitter, following the singer’s efficiency. “However that was one of many worst nationwide anthems I believe I’ve ever heard in my complete life.”
Elsewhere on-line, the “Wishful Consuming” singer’s efficiency was in comparison with Maya Rudolph’s satire of the Nationwide Anthem in a 2006 sketch for Saturday Evening Stay. Attaching the clip of the comic’s efficiency—during which she delivers the verses in over-the-top word adjustments—for season 32 of the dwell present, one other person quipped, “Stay shot of Ingrid Andress singing the nationwide anthem.”
