At the very least 40 troopers have been killed and others wounded when jihadist group Boko Haram attacked a Chad army unit on Sunday. The extremist group focused the army base in Chad’s Lake area which is near the Nigerian border, the federal government mentioned on Monday.
The presidency’s communique mentioned that “A garrison housing greater than 200 troopers was focused by members of Boko Haram” within the western area of Chad late Sunday night time. The assault “tragically left about 40 individuals lifeless,” the assertion mentioned.
The Boko Haram armed rebellion, which started in northeast Nigeria in 2009, has killed greater than 350,000 by some counts and compelled thousands and thousands to flee their properties.
