As Jenn Tran started her journey, there was one member of Bachelor Nation she needed to speak to.
So forward of filming season 21 of The Bachelorette, taking over the mantle of being the primary Asian-American to guide the franchise—she reached out to fellow alum Michelle Younger.
“I actually needed a perspective from an individual of shade and simply get to know what her expertise was like and the place to sort of go along with it,” Jenn instructed E! Information’ Francesca Amiker in an unique interview. “I do know that being within the limelight, you get a number of backlash for it and racism, particularly. And I needed to understand how she dealt with all that and whether or not she thought it was price it ultimately.”
She added, “And he or she was actually nice with a number of good steering. She was like, ‘There are gonna be haters on the market, there’s gonna be racism on the market, however know that you just’re doing it for a motive and be strong-willed.’”
In truth, Jenn discovered that she and Michelle—who led season 18 of the franchise—had comparable approaches to their journeys, each on and off the display screen.
