From ‘Previous City Street‘ to Beverly Hills Cop, it appears Lil Nas X is coming for the entire Village Individuals’s jobs.
The Grammy Award winner launched his newest monitor ‘Right here We Go!‘ on Friday, a theme tune for the upcoming Netflix sequel Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, which premieres Wednesday on the streaming platform.
His tune options the immediately recognizable digital riff from the unique 1984 film’s theme by Harold Faltermeyer. The soundtrack gained a Grammy Award for Finest Rating Soundtrack for Visible Media.
Lil Nas X beforehand admitted that his first time listening to the Beverly Hills Cop theme was in a Household Man episode as he sat down with Axel F stars Eddie Murphy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Taylour Paige for an interview with Netflix.
“It’s Peter Griffin from Household Man,” he stated within the dialog. “He was doing the hum to it and I used to be like, ‘Wait, that was truly an excellent little melody from Household Man.’ After which I noticed the film years later.”
Murphy then identified that the 25-year-old musician “wasn’t even born in 1984. … You weren’t even considered but. You weren’t even just a little glint in your dad’s eye but in 1984.”
Lil Nas X stated the expertise recording the theme tune was “truly type of insane,” including, “I used to be a bit emotional. And I do know my dad and household most likely went essentially the most insane about me doing it as a result of it’s so near them.”
Murphy raved, “It’s simply thrilling to have some new music and have this brother be the one which’s on it.”
“I’m blissful to do it,” stated Lil Nas X. “I hope I’m not slaughtered by the people who love the unique.”
Murphy reprises his function as Detroit-born cop Axel Foley within the upcoming Netflix sequel after starring within the first three movies, which premiered in 1984, 1987 and 1994. Choose Reinhold, John Ashton, Paul Reiser and Bronson Pinchot additionally reprise their roles.
The latest installment sees Murphy’s eponymous character staff up together with his new associate Detective Bobby Abbott (Gordon-Levitt) after his estranged daughter, legal protection legal professional Jane Saunders’ (Paige) life is threatened.
